Charles M. Halverson, DPM, FACFAS
Dr. Halverson completed his undergraduate degree in Chemistry at the University of Minnesota in Duluth. He then completed his doctorate in podiatric medicine at the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, Ca. He continued his surgical training at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Albuquerque, NM. After completing his surgical training Dr. Halverson moved to Fremont in 1991.
The Foot Care Center has been in existence for over 40 years, founded by Dr. Larry Lefler. The practice has continued to grow since Dr. Halverson has taken control, moving to our new location in Fremont in 2002. Seeing a large number of patients traveling from Columbus, Dr. Halverson opened a satellite office in Columbus in 1994. Being on staff at the Fremont Area Medical Center and the Columbus Community Hospital has allowed Dr. Halverson to care for his patients with surgical needs. Patients are also seen in West Point, at St. Francis Memorial Hospital. Dr. Halverson is a member and past president of the Nebraska Podiatric Medical Association, member of the American Podiatric Medical Association. Dr. Halverson is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and a diplomat of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Dr. Halverson is also currently on the board of directors of the Fremont Surgical Center. Dr. Halverson has been elected for 2 terms by the Board of Health to the Board of Podiatry. As past president, Dr. Halverson led Nebraska's primary governing body ensuring patient safety and compliance by the podiatrists of the state. Dr. Halverson is currently the representative from the state of Nebraska to the House of Delegates of the American Podiatric Medical Association.
Dr. Halverson and his family (Colleen, Haley, Jonas and Eli) have lived in Fremont since 1991. Dr. Halverson has enjoyed his involvement with the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, United Way and other service organizations.
